About Me

A 24 year old living in Edmonton, Alberta, Craig has earned a Secondary Bachelor of Education degree majoring in Instrumental Music. Craig has played the trombone for a total of 13 years, 4 of which under John McPherson (Principal Trombone, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra) and Chris Taylor (Principal Bass Trombone, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra). Craig has taken 4 years of lessons concurrently with both instructors since entering the University of Alberta in fall of 2005.

Craig has performed as principal trombone in the University of Alberta Symphonic Wind Ensemble (under Dr. Angela Schroeder and Dr. Fordyce Pier), the University of Alberta Symphony Orchestra (under Tanya Prochazka, Malcolm Forsyth, Aaron Au, and Petar Dundjerski), the University of Alberta Concert Band (under Wendy Grasdahl), and co-principal trombone in the University of Alberta/Grant MacEwan Jazz Band II (under Dr. Tom Dust).

Craig has recently performed internationally with the University of Alberta's Symphonic Wind Ensemble at the 2010 West/NorthWest College Band Directors National Association conference at Reno, Nevada.

Craig is also a founding member of the trombone quartet "The Northern Bells" which began operations summer of 2010.  Along with quartet pieces, we also perform in trio, sextet, octet, or even more configurations if we have the trombone power.

Apart from playing music, Craig enjoys building and fixing computers, and working with various pieces of technology. If it has a chip, he’s interested!
